St. Magdalener Aperitivo

Installazione site-specific

A uniquely charming food and wine experience takes place in Walther Square with the St. Magdalener Aperitivo. The event celebrates the strong bond between Bolzano and the Santa Maddalena wine, symbol of the city and the result of the union of the native grape varieties Schiava and Lagrein.

The precious nectar, which bears the Santa Maddalena Classico label, comes from the processing of grapes grown in the limited vineyard area bounded by the triangle formed by the Isarco River, the Talvera stream, Monte Tondo, and the eponymous hill in the background. This area covers 200 hectares of vineyards planted at altitudes between 200 and 550 meters, enjoying a very favorable southern exposure with around 300 days of sunshine per year.

On the evening the tasting of Santa Maddalena — whose controlled designation of origin is guaranteed by the namesake Protection Consortium, with its 101 years of history, the oldest in Italy — will be accompanied by top-quality finger food and an interactive installation that allows you to explore the characteristics of the 21 participating wines.

We believe in energy and inspiration of important meetings, don’t you?
